Our History
External Pharma was founded by a dedicated group of industry drug development scientists who had comprised the core Neuroscience Drug Discovery and Development at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals. Through External Pharma, they extend their commitment to drug discovery and development, their collective expertise, their state of the art facility and equipment to companies worldwide. External Pharma brings over 45 years of combined industry experience and know how to pharmaceutical and biotech companies and provides an efficient, cost-effective and streamlined approach to drug discovery and development.

Our track record is impressive and includes eight years of successful collaborations with large biotech and pharmaceutical firms; the in-depth phenotypic analysis of over 4650 genetically modified lines of mice in a 5 year period (unparalleled breadth and depth of experience with KO mice) resulting in the discovery of new targets for CNS indications across many gene families (GPCR, ligand-gated receptors, kinases, proteases, lipases, ion channels, transporters, secreted proteins, etc.).
